Eminem’s Kids, Pete Davidson & More Appear in His Superhero-Themed ‘Houdini’ Music Video: Watch
Shady’s back, back again, and this time, he’s bringing his family and a whole crew of famous friends. Eminem dropped his new single “Houdini” Friday (May 31), complete with a superhero-themed music video reminiscent of his own 2009 “Without Me” visual, this time featuring his three kids and a hilarious cameo from Pete Davidson.
The clip starts off with the 51-year-old rapper’s bleach-blond 2000s persona stepping through a portal into the present day, looking around with disgust at modern inventions such as selfie sticks, robot dog-walkers and VR headsets. “Sometimes I wonder what the old me would say if he could see the way s–t is today,” he muses later on in the track.
After Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and more stars warn 2024 Eminem that his old self has arrived, he dons tights and a cape to fight off his alter-ego on the roof of a skyscraper. During their showdown, they merge into one person, after which the new Eminem hops into a getaway car and declares, “F–k my own kids, they’re brats,” among other things, while holding up a middle finger to his children Hailie, Alaina and Stevie on FaceTime.
To top it all off, Davidson — also rocking a platinum cut — appears at the end. “Trust me, I’m a great driver,” he says before hopping into the front seat of the “Not Afraid” artist’s vehicle. “Don’t worry, I just got my license back.”
The comedian previously recreated parts of the iconic “Without Me” music video in a Saturday Night Live sketch with Jack Harlow. A year later, Eminem made an appearance in Davidson’s tribute to the show’s creator, Lorne Michaels.
“Houdini” is the first single off of Eminem’s 12th studio album, which is expected to arrive this summer. It will follow 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
