Emma Myers says ‘Wednesday’ season two is “a really good time”
Emma Myers has teased the forthcoming second season of Wednesday, promising that it will be a “really good time”.
The actress plays cheerful werewolf Enid in the hit Netflix show and is currently starring as Pip in the streamer’s new show A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. The new series is an adaptation of the novel by Holly Jackson, which is especially popular on BookTok.
In the show, Myers’ character opts, for her end-of-sixth-form project, to investigate the murder of a former student Andie Bell at her school five years ago.
When it came to Wednesday, she told Teen Vogue: “There are lots of new adventures that we all go on. I love the scripts this season, they’re so fun! I think people should be ready for a good time.”
Myers had to remain tight-lipped when talking about the upcoming season in a recent interview with NME – “Otherwise my body will be buried somewhere and you’ll never see me again!” she joked. She did, however, speak about the new additions to the cast, namely Billie Piper and Steve Buscemi.
“I’ve gotten to work with Steve Buscemi – he’s absolutely fantastic,” she said. “And Billie Piper a couple of times, and we’re getting into the swing of it, and everybody fits in really well. This season’s going to be great, especially with the new cast, and I’m excited about it.”
Myers said that she felt she had more in common with Pip than Enid – “I’m not as smart as Pip is, but our personalities are somewhat similar, so I felt a connection with her when I read the books.”
Last month, it was confirmed that the second season of Wednesday had become the largest production ever shot in Ireland.
To celebrate the news, Ireland’s prime minister, Taoiseach Simon Harris, visited the set, meeting series director Tim Burton, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and several Irish creatives working on the production.
“I’m delighted to see Ireland continues to be chosen as a location to film series and movies which supports our economy, creates jobs, showcases our creative talents and promotes our country on a global stage,” Harris said in a statement (via Variety).
At the time of writing, the second season is expected to be released on the streaming platform by late 2024 or early 2025.
