K-hip-hop trio Epik High have released a music video for their latest single, ‘Antihero’.

‘Antihero’ is the lead single off Epik High’s new mixtape, ‘Pump’, which also includes the song ‘I Was Happy’, featuring Kim Jong-wan of NELL. Notably, the project is also the trio’s first full body of work since Part Two of their tenth studio album ‘Epik High Is Here’ dropped in February 2022.

Speaking with Billboard about the mixtape, the group said that the mixtape format of ‘Pump’ “frees us from having to make radio hits, allowing us to refocus on the irreverent and raw side of Epik High that our core fans love”. They added that it has also “allowed us to make songs that are optimised for live performance”.

The music video for ‘Antihero’ features the trio performing the song on a soundstage with wires strewn everywhere. “All the heroes that you serve look like villains to me / They’re spinning the globe on a finger/ I’m their anti-hero,” the rap on the chorus of the song.

Later this month, Epik High will kick off their 2024 ‘The Pump’ world tour, beginning in June to August, with seven shows across Asia and Australia. Thereafter, the girl group will return to North America for a massive 23-date tour of the region.

In other K-pop news, BLACKPINK singer Rosé has teased that she has new music coming in the “not-too-distant future”, following the announcement of her new record deal with The Black Label.

Meanwhile, aespa have surprised fans with a new music video for ‘Live My Life’, a cut from their new album ‘Armageddon’. Later this month, the quartet will embark on their 2024 ‘SYNK: Parallel Line’ tour, staring with a two-night concert in Seoul, South Korea.
