EXO’s Baekhyun gives update on new music: “It’s at that stage of filming the music video”
EXO singer Baekhyun has given an update on much-anticipated new solo music, over three years after his last release, 2021’s ‘Bambi’.
Earlier this year, when speaking with NME during the Singapore stop of his 2024 ‘Lonsdaleite’ Asia tour, EXO’s Baekhyun revealed that he had been “preparing an album” between concerts. “Regardless of the type of music, I want to make it uniquely mine,” he says.
In a new interview with Teen Vogue, the K-pop star has given fans an update for the progress of new music, saying that “it’s just at that stage of filming the music video and other production-related activities”.
“It was refreshing and very enjoyable to work with new staff for the first time, and personally, I really like the songs,” the singer added. “I feel like you would at least get the feeling that I wanted to try something new this time.”
Baekhyun then added that the “biggest advantage” he had working on music this time around was “being able to create something based on what I like, whatever mix I want to request, and most importantly that I can express a song in the way that I understand it”.
In other Baekhyun news, the singer and two of his follow EXO bandmates, Chen and Xiumin, recently filed criminal lawsuits against two SM Entertainment executives. The trio had alleged in an earlier press conference that the agency had failed to honour a previous agreement over royalty rates.
