Fans Choose Kim Loaiza & Codiciado’s ‘QuesoXTE’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music Latin
Kim Loaiza and Codiciado’s “QuesoXTE” has topped this week’s new music Latin poll.
In a poll published on Friday (Aug. 9) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin roundup and playlist, curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Mexican artists first collaborative effort as their favorite music release of the week.
“QuesoXTE” generated over 68% of the votes, beating out other new releases that dropped that week, including J Balvin’s sixth studio album, Rayo; Nicky Jam’s tropical jam “Insomnio;” DannyLux’s “Soltera;” Kali Uchis’ “Adicto,” from her Orquídeas Parte 2 deluxe album; and Morat’s “Antes de los 30 (En Sueño Desde Madrid); among others.
Coming in second place was Tiago PZK’s fiery experiment with Brazilian funk music, where he reeled in Brazilian superstar Anitta and Argentine pop act Emilia for “Alegría.”
In their first collaboration together, Mexican pop star Loaiza and the Música Mexicana artist Codiciado deliver a defiant corrido called “QuesoXTE,” a clever twist on “Qué Soporte.” Blending guitars and brass instruments, the pair sing lyrics about ephemeral success and handling haters.
“I’m clear that envy is a disease/ and I truly hope you get better,” Loaiza chants. In the track, Codiciado’s seasoned voice alongside Loaiza’s cheeky sass forge a dynamic interplay, crafting an anthem that celebrates overcoming adversity and seizing the moment.
Last week, music fans crowned Camila’s comeback album Regresa as the winner bringing in more than 80% of the vote. See the final results of this week’s new music Latin poll below.
