Fans think they’ve spotted a huge clue about Eminem’s new single
Eminem fans are certain that they’ve spotted a huge clue left by the rapper, hinting at a potential new single.
The speculation comes shortly after the rapper ran a fake Slim Shady obituary in a Detroit Newspaper, helping to build hype for his upcoming album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’.
The LP will mark the 12th LP studio album from the artist, and the first since he dropped ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ in 2020. At the time of writing, there is no set release date, but it is expected to arrive later this summer. You can pre-save the album here.
Now, following the fake obituary, eagle-eyed fans are becoming increasingly sure that they have spotted a clue, indicating the potential title of a new single.
Photos of the obituary in the Detroit Free Press began circling social media, with particular attention being drawn to the headline and the subhead reading: “Fans ‘Will Never Forget’ Controversial Rapper”.
It also featured a photo of Eminem wearing a pair of dungarees and a white, Jason Voorhees-style hockey mask.

It is the odd punctuation in the subheading of the eulogy that has got fans thinking, with some theorising that the quotations around ‘Will Never Forget’ indicate the title of a new single.
“I don’t want to reach or get anyone’s hopes up, but isn’t it weird they’d have quotation marks on ‘Will Never Forget’?” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “Could be a song title or single? Eminem is known to have some weird song titles so I wouldn’t put it past him.”
Another agreed, adding: “I bet ‘Will Never Forget’ it’s a single (or sth related to the album, maybe the real name)”.
A third jumped to conclusions with the unusual stylising too, writing: “New Eminem single “Will Never Forget” coming real soon…”, and elsewhere a fan page based in Brazil added fuel to the fire by sharing: “Let the theories begin. Will ‘Will Never Forget’ be the first single off TDOSS?”

The announcement of new music came in the form of a trailer, which saw a reporter ponder the death of the Slim Shady alter-ego and launch an investigation.
The persona made a debut in 1997 with the ‘Slim Shady’ EP. In 1999, he returned with ‘The Slim Shady’ album. The lyrics and tracks from Slim often discussed matters of the media at the time, especially his feuds with fellow celebrity colleagues.
When it is shared, the new album will mark Eminem’s first new music since he added a verse to Juice WRLD and Benny Blanco’s ‘Lace It’ in December.
Little else is known of the upcoming album besides that several tracks on the record have been produced by Dr. Dre.
Dre revealed earlier this year that the rapper had been working on new material and enlisted him for production duties. “Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year,” he said. “I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here… So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire.”
Eminem’s last studio album, ‘Music To Be Murdered By’, was given a three-star review by NME.
“Eminem’s discography once looked lopsided, youthful iconoclasm dissipating into creative exhaustion. But now it comes across as a little more interesting,” it read.
“These curious newer records may age well […] The bigger question is this: should Eminem continue to grow old disgracefully, or cut the stately figure he adopts on the moving and impactful pro-gun control track ‘Darkness’?”
