311 have been announced as the first headliner of the 30th-anniversary comeback edition of Vans Warped Tour.

The headlining slot will mark the funk-rock band’s – comprised of Nick Hexum, Aaron “P-Nut” Wills, Chad Sexton, Tim Mahoney and Doug “SA” Martinez – fifth time performing at the iconic punk and rock festival. They first played the bash in 1996 and returned in 1998 and 2001. Their most recent appearance at the fest was during its 2019 edition, which also served as the bash’s last and final farewell.

311 will only be headlining at the Vans Warped Tour taking place in Long Beach, California on July 26 and 27. They are not booked for the other two stops of the festival in Orlando and Washington D.C.. You can find tickets to all three weekends here.

The announcement of 311’s headlining slot comes after the festival revealed the first wave of performers on the bill, including the likes of Simple Plan, Bowling For SoupPennywise, Miss May I, Dance Hall Crashers and Chandler Leighton.

Simple Plan and Bowling For Soup have played at the fesitval 13 and nine times respectively while Pennywise and Miss May I have both played the Warped Tour a number of times before, while Dance Hall Crashers, who previously played in 1996, are reuniting after 20 years. Leighton, meanwhile, is making her Warped Tour debut.

The likes of Drain, Saturdays At Your Place, and The Maine were also announced as new additions to the bill yesterday (January 28) with Drain set to play all all three locations, Saturdays At Your Place will only be playing the D.C. date and The Maine will be at both D.C. and Orlando, Florida.

The Warped Tour has been going since 1995, and became known as the Vans Warped Tour a year later for sponsorship reasons. It made its final tour across the US in 2018, before a toned-down festival the following year to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Founder Kevin Lyman announced in October that it would be returning for 2025, telling Rolling Stone at the time, “People start remembering once something’s gone that it was important, it was fun — and I’m hoping to recapture a lot of that again.”

He also said that, while his “body won’t take riding around on a tour bus” to the number of cities the tour would visit in its heyday, he’d be open to adding more dates in future years if 2025 turns out to be successful.

While the rest of the line-up is unknown so far, some of the biggest names in punk, pop-punk and alternative rock have graced the Warped Tour in previous years. Less Than JakeAnti-Flag and Reel Big Fish join Simple Plan in having played over 10 times, while bands including My Chemical RomanceParamoreFall Out Boy and Green Day have also played in the past.

The festival has also branched out into rap at times, welcoming artists including EminemCypress Hill and Black Eyed Peas.
