Five new civil lawsuits filed against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – with youngest alleged victim just 13 at the time of incident
Five new civil lawsuits have been filed against Diddy, with the youngest alleged victim being just 13 at the time.
According to a new report by BBC News, two men and three women have filed civil lawsuits against the hip-hop mogul – real name Sean Combs – at a federal court in New York. They accuse him of sexually assaulting them at various parties across the US.
The disgraced rapper was arrested in New York last month and subsequently charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Diddy was later denied bail after offering a $50million (£38.4m) bond, and was reportedly placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial. The artist has since appealed against the bail denial. His trial date is scheduled for May 5 next year.
While Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges, his lawyers have also dismissed accusations as “clear attempts to garner publicity”. Adding: “Mr Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone – adult or minor, man or woman.”
All five of the new lawsuits allege that Diddy – or by proxy through his associates – drugged alcoholic beverages at various events which reportedly made them feel dizzy and nauseous. In several of the suits, he is accused of raping them, forcing oral sex on them, or aggressively groping them.
According to the court filings, it is alleged that Combs – as well as another, unnamed male celebrity – raped a 13-year-old girl at a VMAs after-party in 2000. According to another court filing, it claims that Diddy drugged and raped an independent musical artist at a party, and puts forward claims that she woke up in pain and with imprints on her arms, suggesting she had been tied with ropes.
A third sees a man allege that the hip-hop artist exposed himself and grabbed the man’s genitals in a “rough” manner.
The fourth court filing alleges an unnamed celebrity personal trainer saw many high-profile celebrities engaging in group sexual activities at a party where he was allegedly sexually assaulted by Combs. The alleged incident took place at his Hollywood Hills home in 2022 and the court filings allege that Diddy undressed the trainer and performed “non-consensual oral sex onto him” (via BBC News).
The fifth new lawsuit comes from a woman who alleges that she was drugged at one of Combs’ parties, and woke up naked on the bed in his hotel room, while Diddy was making a phone call in the corner of the room.
NME has reached out for comment regarding the new lawsuits.
Combs is in federal custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City. He is next expected to appear in court on December 18. According to Rolling Stone, he could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
Other reports suggested that he was not eating in prison out of fear of being poisoned. The bail denial meant that the rapper has been ordered to remain in jail while awaiting trial.
As emerged earlier this week, Diddy is now also potentially facing new lawsuits from around 120 people accusing him of sexual abuse and assault, including 25 minors.
