Flavor Flav Praises Taylor Swift As ‘One of the Most Important Artists of Our Time’: Here’s Why
Flavor Flav will always stand by Taylor Swift.
Following his recent elimination from the 13th season of The Masked Singer — on which he performed as Space Ranger and at one point performed the pop star’s “Bad Blood” — the Public Enemy star opened up about his love for Swift in an interview with People published Wednesday (March 12). “I always go hard for Taylor Swift,” he began.
“The Swifties, they know how hard I go in for Taylor Swift,” he continued. “The Swifties gave me a brand new name called King Swiftie. So I’m King Swiftie. I’m king of all the Swifties, And Taylor, she knows that too.”
“I love her,” Flav added. “I love her work. She’s one of the most important artists of our time. I don’t know no other musical artists that can throw a concert, and it hits the Richter scale. She causes earthquakes.”
The rapper has been a proud Swiftie since 2023, when he first attended an Eras Tour concert in Detroit. While at the show, he was blown away by how kind her fans were to him.
“A lot of these fans were coming up to me — these young kids, man, I’m surprised they even knew who I was! — and they start giving me these friendship bracelets,” he said on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning radio show in January 2024. “Her fanbase embraced me, and I embraced them back. So, I went home and I started really listening to Taylor. I’m listening to her music, and I’m like, ‘Yo, this girl is dope!’”
Flav has since been one of Swift’s fiercest fans and defenders. In February, for instance, he spoke up for her after she was booed at the 2025 Super Bowl. “Eagles fans will boo anyone,,, remember when they booed and attacked Santa Claus,??? SANTA CLAUS,!!!” he wrote on Bluesky at the time, sharing a link to the Wikipedia page for a famous 1968 incident in which Philadelphia football fans threw snowballs at the star of that year’s Christmas parade.
“The only person who might bring more spirit and joy to people than Taylor Swift,,, and of course your boy Flavor Flav,” he added. “Just Shake It Off.”
