Fontaines D.C. and Lankum are set to play a special homecoming gig at Guinness’ headquarters later this year. Check out details below.

The news of the new gig was shared on the official Guinness Instagram page earlier this afternoon (April 16).

It revealed that both hit Irish bands will be performing together as part of a special homecoming show next month, taking place at the company’s headquarters in Dublin on May 25.

“Act 1 is officially revealed. You won’t want to miss the gig of the year at The Home of Guinness,” read the caption, while the image showed the brewery gates, branded with the name of both bands.

It also confirmed that those seeking tickets must be over 21 years of age, and that all proceeds made from the gig will be donated to the Guinness Dublin 8 Community Fund. The latter helps to champion projects across education, sustainability and community enhancement initiatives.

The show will be held as part of the Lovely Days Live at the Home of Guinness series, which takes place at St. James’s Gate between May 23 and May 25, and is described as “an unforgettable three-day music, food and culture experience”.

Fontaines D.C. and Lankum are the first names announced, and a new description says that the gig aims to be “an incredible celebration of contemporary Irish music”.

Tickets will be allocated through a ballot system. Applications are open now, and the ballot closes on Friday (April 18) at 2pm local time. Winners will be notified next week, and you can apply for tickets here.

For Lankum, the gig comes after the huge success of their ‘False Lankum’ album, which was nominated for Best Album at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards and shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize award.

Speaking about the huge response to the record, guitarist Daragh Lynch told NME about how it linked to the huge cultural footprint made by Ireland in 2024 – making nods to the likes of Fontaines, CMAT, KNEECAP, The Mary Wallopers, Sprints, NewDad and many more.

“There’s something going on across the board, culturally at the moment,” he said. “I have a theory that it’s something to do with this generation just being a bit more confident than previous ones. They’re breaking free – whether it’s from something colonial or Catholic church-based.

“There’s definitely been a thing with previous generations in Ireland with generational trauma and not being entirely confident.”

He added: “There’s been a lot with this generation around referendums around abortion, gay marriage, and people turning around and saying, ‘Well, fuck that’. They’ve got the confidence to stand up and be themselves.”

For Grian Chatten and co., the show in Dublin follows the release of Fontaines’ acclaimed fourth studio record ‘Romance’ last year. It peaked at Number Two in the UK, and recently landed at Number Four in the top 10 best-selling vinyl albums of 2025 so far.

Today (April 16), Fontaines shared the Deluxe Edition on digital online platforms. The collection contains three additional tracks, including a dreamy new track titled ‘Before You I Just Forget’, the standalone single ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’, and a previously unreleased, stripped-back live version of ‘Starburster’ that incorporates David Lynch’s ‘In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)’.

It also follows a huge number of shows each band has planned for the summer. Visit here for tickets to other Lankum gigs, and here for tickets to Fontaines D.C. gigs.
