‘Fortnite’ fans are hyped for the launch of season four – here’s why
Fortnite season four starts tomorrow (Friday August 16), and fans are eagerly anticipating the launch of Absolute Doom.
Over on X/Twitter, fans are already clamouring for the start of the new season, and it’s easy to see why. Marvel characters will be making more appearances this season, titled Absolute Doom.
From Dr Doom, to the Avengers and the X-Men, you’ll be able to unlock outfits for Gwenpool, War Machine, Peelverine, Emma Frost, Captain Jonesy, Mysterio and Shuri. As well as the new outfits, new weapons are being added, such as Dual Micro SMGs, Captain America’s Shield, or War Machine’s Arsenal.
The season lines up perfectly with the reveal that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom, likely some sort of Tony Stark variant who went down the path of Doom rather than Iron Man.
Fans have mixed reactions to the current season, with one writing “Last 24H in this horrible season,” and another posting: “Last 24 hours of the best season ever.”
Season three was all about vehicular warfare, and players all united around a common hatred for Cybertrucks, teaming up to destroy them on sight.
It seems Marvel is a good draw, as one fan wrote: “First time I’m getting the battle pass since the Darth Vader one.”
The battle pass is available for 950 V-Bucks; you can purchase 1,000 for £6.99.
“24 hours until the best Marvel skin ever released comes out,” wrote one fan alongside a GIF of Mysterio.
Following the Apple v. Epic lawsuit, Fortnite is also returning to iOS devices and will be giving away some free goodies to mark the occasion.
In other news, Red Dead Redemption may finally be coming to PC, as the PlayStation Store seemed to leak some information about the port.
