Future Teases Yet Another Project: ‘New Tape OTW’

Future may have another project on the way.

The Atlanta rapper took to his Instagram and posted a highlight reel of Paris Fashion Week featuring Pharrell telling him that his project Mixtape Pluto “is the greatest sh–.” And the caption simply reads: “New Tape OTW.”

Future had a better 2024 than just about anybody not named Kendrick Lamar and is planning to continue that momentum — not only with this tape, but there are also rumors that he’s working on a collab album with Lil Baby and Young Thug. And earlier this month, producer Wheezy posted pics of himself in the studio apparently working on Super Slimey 2, the sequel to Future and Thugger’s collab tape from 2017.

The tape with Lil Baby was initially Young Thug’s idea — who was able to get more involved after his November release from prison. “Me and Future were also going to drop a project, but it was Thug’s idea,” Baby revealed before admitting that Thug wanted to be more closely involved. “There probably won’t be a me and Future tape anymore because Thug is back. So, whatever it would be, it’ll be all three of us.”

In 2024, Future released three No. 1 albums in the span of six months in We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You with Metro Boomin and Mixtape Pluto — making him the first artist to top the Billboard 200 with three albums in a single year since the Glee cast in 2010 and The Beatles in 1965-66. Future also had six songs hit the Billboard Hot 100, his most since he also charted six songs in 2017 when he released Future and Hndrxx.
