Gojira, Trivium and Machine Head announced as Bloodstock 2025 headliners
Gojira, Trivium and Machine Head have been announced as the headliners for next year’s edition of Bloodstock festival.
The annual heavy metal music bash will return to its home of Catton Park, Derbyshire on the weekend of August 7-10, 2025. Other acts to have been announced include the likes of Me And That Man, Kataklysm, Static-X, Obituary, Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Orange Goblin, Creeper, Kublai Khan TX, The Black Dahlia Murder, Lord Of The Lost, August Burns Red, All For Metal, Breed 77, 3 Inches Of Blood and Feuerschwanz. Trivium will be headlining the fest on Friday (August 8). The band’s frontman Matt Heafy shared in a statement: “We’ve always said that the UK is a second home to Trivium. It’s where our band really took root way back in 2005 and our relationship with it has only grown deeper over time.”
He continued: “Our headline set will span our entire 20-year history and we’ll also celebrate Ascendancy by bringing both the music and art to life. Bloodstock is the home of heavy metal in the UK and we’re thrilled to once again be called upon to headline it along with two long-time friends. We promise you this will be the biggest and best Trivium set you have ever seen!”
“We honestly couldn’t be more stoked about hitting the stage at one of our favourite festivals to play. Bloodstock will forever hold a special place in our blackened hearts after our, now legendary, not-so-secret-secret-show on the Sophie Lancaster Stage back in 2022. That show, which marked our return to the live arena post-pandemic, was one of the hottest, wildest and most intense shows we’ve ever played on UK shores and we now want to recreate that magic again, and take it even higher in August 2025. Bloodstock, get ready because Machine Fuckin’ Head is coming to town and we want to see all you Head Cases lose it! Beers up!” shared Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn who will headline the festival on Saturday (August 9).
Gojira are set to close out the entire fest on Sunday (August 10). “We are psyched to play Bloodstock again next year,” said frontman Joe Duplantier in a statement. “Hold on to your socks, it’s gonna be brutal!”
In other news, a statue containing the ashes of the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy was recently unveiled at Bloodstock Festival in Derbyshire this past weekend.
His remains have been enshrined in a bust that is on display at the Catton Park festival, alongside personal items including his hat, coat, boots and photographs, as well as Lemmy’s last jar of Marmite and Milky Way bars, from the band’s final tour in 2015 (via BBC).
Elsewhere, Gojira recently responded to claims that their performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics was “satanic”.
