Gracie Abrams has shared her “deepest regrets” after cancelling the first two shows of her upcoming 2025 UK and Ireland arena tour.

The ‘I Know It Won’t Work’ singer kicked off ‘The Secret Of Us’ tour at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid last month, making stops in cities such as Lisbon, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Zurich, Milan and Paris.

From there, Abrams was meant to make her way to the UK, beginning with a show at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham tonight (March 3) which should have been followed by a show in Leeds.

However, a note shared on social media today revealed that due to an ongoing illness – which has already seen her cancel a date in Belgium recently – she was deemed not fit to perform.

“I hate that I have to write this again so soon,” the handwritten note, addressed to Nottingham and Leeds, began. “Unfortunately, I am still really struggling with this illness and have been advised that I cannot perform these next two nights. I can’t tell you how much this breaks my heart.

“This tour is something I’ve been dreaming of since the album came out and the shows we’ve played so far have meant more to me than I can tell you. The moment we hear any concrete details about these two shows in your cities, we will be in touch. Please know I’d give anything to be able to be with you. Thank you for understanding. I’m sending all my love and my deepest regrets.”

Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena show and the O2 Academy Leeds gig have been postponed and are awaiting reschedule. As the timing of writing, Abrams’ forthcoming shows in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Dublin and Glasgow between March 6 and 12 are unaffected. You can find any remaining tickets for those shows here.

Abrams’ ‘The Secret Of Us’ scored a four-star review from NME upon its release last June: “It’s a moment of pure pop catharsis that leans into the good, bad and messy of infatuation. This is the joy of ‘The Secret of Us’: it doesn’t shy away from the complex or contradictory. Here Gracie Abrams embraces her growing pains and celebrates enduring the difficult moments. She’s never sounded better.”

More recently, she teamed up with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco on the breezy new collab ‘Call Me When You Break Up’. It marks the first collaboration between the trio and the second between Abrams and Blanco, who previously teamed up for 2021’s ‘Unlearn’.
