Grimes promises to “cap the disarray” as she returns for Coachella weekend two
Following her rough outing at Coachella last weekend, Grimes has issued a promise that she’ll be well-prepared for this weekend’s show.
Grimes made the promise via social media, writing today (April 19): “Whose [sic] ready for Coachella weekend 2? I will cap the disarray at a maximum ten seconds per song – idk if there’s ever been a more rehearsed or fine tuned grimes set. And I made another blackpink remix for good measure.”

The post comes five days after Grimes took to the Sahara Tent for her first of two sets at Coachella this year. Despite starting strong, her set was soon engulfed in a myriad of problems, leaving her screaming out in frustration multiple times.
She apologised to the crowd at the time, saying: “All my tracks are double tempo and I can’t do the math. They’re borderline un-mixable, so the rest of my set won’t be mixes but it’ll still be fun.”
After the set, Grimes apologised to fans, writing: “I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight. I wanted to come back rly strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organize the tracks on the sd card etc.”
She went on to stress that she intends to “personally organize” her files for her set at the second weekend of Coachella, adding: “I will not let such a thing happen again” and that next week will be “flawless”.
In other Coachella news, Kid Cudi has been announced for a special performance at the Sahara tent on Sunday (April 21) from 5:10pm PDT until 5:50pm PDT. It is also worth noting that Vampire Weekend, who were a surprise addition to the opening weekend of this year’s Coachella, will not be performing for weekend two.
