Guns N’ Roses Are Returning to India After 12 Years
Legendary rock outfit Guns N’ Roses are plotting their return to India after a 12 year absence, working with Indian concert promotion company BookMyShow Live.
The band’s return is scheduled for May 17 at Mahalaxmi Racecourse — typically used for horse racing — in Mumbai. Live Nation, the band’s global tour promoter, is co-producing the Mumbai show. The band last played India on Dec. 12, 2012 in Gurgaon, outside of New Dehli — the gig was prior to lead singer Axl Rose’s reunion with Slash and Duff McKagan.
Guns N Roses will visit India as part of an extensive global trek beginning May 1 at Incheon, South Korea and includes stops in Japan, Bahrain and a historic May 23 show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 23. The band also plans to perform in Shekvetili in the republic of Georgia and make multiple stops across Europe with support from rock band Rival Sons, hip hop icons Public Enemy and a reunited Sex Pistols.
“At BookMyShow Live, we’ve always been passionate about bringing world-class entertainment to Indian audiences and putting India on the global entertainment map,” said Anil Makhija, chief operating officer of live entertainment and venues for BookMyShow. “Having the chance to bring these legends back to India is a surreal and proud moment for BookMyShow Live. Their music has shattered barriers, brought fans together across generations and left an unforgettable mark on rock history.”
Last week, BookMyShow successfully staged Lollapalooza India with partners C3 Presents and Janes Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell featuring headliners Green Day, Shawn Mendes and Louis Tomlinson along with homegrown favorites including Hanumankind, Niladri Kumar and Raftaar X KR$NA. BookMyShows booked two stops by Coldplay in Mumbai and Ahmedabad for their 2025 Music Of The Spheres World Tour and seven shows for Ed Sheeran’s recent stop in 2025.
Presale for the May 17 Mumbai show begins March 17.
