The award-winning series Hacks has finally found a broadcaster in the UK, ending a year of uncertainty for fans.

The show, set in the world of stand-up comedy, had previously been with Amazon’s Prime Video service, which aired the first two seasons. However, it didn’t have a home for its third season, which premiered in May 2024 in the US on HBO and Max.

A 10-episode fourth season has been confirmed and has an expected air in America in May 2025, with a UK broadcast shortly after. Both will be available on Sky and its streaming service NOW.

In a press release, the company said: “Sky has exclusively acquired seasons three and four of multi-Emmy-winning comedy series Hacks in the UK, following huge success in the Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy categories at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards”.

It continued: “Brand-new to UK screens, season three of the US fan-favourite will exclusively launch on Sky and streaming service NOW on February 7. Hacks explores a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder)”.

The statement also states that the first two seasons will be available on the service for those who wish to catch up.

Part of the demand for a return to British screen has been the show has been the show’s success with awards voters, beating The Bear to Best Comedy Series at the recent Golden Globes and winning Smart a second award for her role as Deborah Vance.

This takes their total to four, alongside nine Emmy wins. Despite this acclaim, the star has called upon Hollywood to postpone its awards shows in the wake of the LA wildfires.
