The ‘Lucky’ singer took to X/Twitter earlier this week to share a tweet that read: “I’m in london, and I have a surprise planned for wednesday. feeling reaaaaaal nostalgic about it :)”. The tweet also featured a link to a phone number which fans were able to text for updates.
Upon texting the number, certain lucky fans were invited to a free gig at KOKO in London slated for tomorrow night (August 14). “Hi its halsey. I’ll be texting you here first for updates on my music, my album and other surprises. and the first surprise is: tomorrow I’m doing a free show @ KOKO where I haven’t played since ‘Badlands’. Free tickets here,” read the text reply.

The announcement of the secret last-minute gig comes after the musician tweeted “London I have a surprise for you next week. Don’t miss out,” last week (August 9). That same week, Halsey performed at Sziget Festival 2024 where they previewed a new “rock song”.
The new song played over the soundsystem between Halsey’s main set and encore at the Budapest festival on August 8, with fans later sharing a snippet of the song on social media.
“For every Halsey pop song, there’s a Halsey rock song. I feel like I should be able to do both,” she is reported to have said by way of introduction for the song.

The same Hungarian festival set also saw the singer play her latest single, the Britney-sampling ‘Lucky’, for the first time ever.
She recently said she was “really nervous” about clearing the sample on the song, and said she “shared everything” with the singer throughout the creative process.
It came after Spears appeared to claim that she felt “harassed, violated and bullied” by her new ‘Lucky’ video.
In a since-deleted post, Spears threatened legal action against Halsey and called her “downright cruel”, adding: “I didn’t know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a [superficial] pop star with no heart or concern at all.
“I have my own health problems which is why I took down my IG account yesterday. I will definitely be putting it back up to show I CARE.”
However, Spears later walked back her statement on X/Twitter, writing: “Fake news !!! That was not me on my phone !!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it!!!”
In response, Halsey said: “I love Britney!!!! I always have and always will you were the first person who ever made me realise what it means to feel inspired. And you continue to inspire me everyday.”
Halsey has also teased that her new album will be “all over the place” and “full of experimentation”.
