The Great Circle was released earlier this month and features a brand new story set between the events of big screen Indiana Jones adventures Raiders Of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Harrison Ford’s likeness was used for the game but the voice acting was done by Troy Baker.
At The Game Awards last night (December 12), while presenting the award for Best Performance, The Great Circle’s director Todd Howard joked that Baker made a case for “best Indy performance”, riffing on the Best Indie Game award. “There was another guy though…he’s pretty good,” Howard continued, with Harrison Ford then joining the pair onstage
Ford encouraged the crowd to keep his standing ovation going for The Great Circle before turning his attention to Baker. “I think this guy did a great job. If I’d have known he was so good, I’d have done it myself.”

Speaking to NME last month, Baker confirmed that he hadn’t spoken to Ford while working on The Great Circle. “In the beginning, I was really worried about the comparisons,” he added. “Of course, I do sit here now and wonder if [Ford] would be proud but on set, I couldn’t do that. Indiana Jones doesn’t worry about being Indiana Jones.”
He went on to say that he initially turned down the job because “there are people that can do a better Harrison Ford impression than me,” but eventually said yes because he “just wanted Indiana Jones to be in the right hands.”
It comes after Harrison Ford said farewell to Indiana Jones with 2023’s The Dial Of Destiny and promised that the character wouldn’t be rebooted or recast. “Nobody else is going to be Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone.”
Following the success of The Great Circle, LucasFilm Games general manager Douglas Reilly said it would be “super interesting” to tell more Indiana Jones stories.
