Harry Lawtey exits ‘Industry’ season four

Industry has lost one of its core cast members heading into season four.

According to a Deadline Hollywood report, sources claim that Harry Lawtey – who portrayed Robert Spearing – has exited the series and will not return for season four.

Deadline reports that Lawtey’s exit is due to scheduling conflicts, though the publication was unable to identify which of his projects will clash with season four’s production. Production on Industry season four is due to kick off in the UK sometime next month.

However, the show’s remaining main cast – including Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Kit Harington and Ken Leung – are all due to return for season four.

Lawtey’s exit from the show also serves as a rather natural farewell for his character. At the end of Industry‘s third season, Lawtey’s Spearing quitting Pierpoint to work at a psilocybin startup. While this was meant to build to a larger storyline for Spearing in season four, it seems as though his story will continue offscreen.

Industry has been an acclaimed series throughout its run and has catapulted several of its cast into superstardom, including David Jonnson, who has won the EE Rising Star Award at the BAFTAs earlier this week. Also nominated were his Industry cast mates Marisa Abela and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Harry Lawtey has also risen to fame, most recently appearing in Joker: Folie à Deux as Harvey Dent.

Season three of Industry saw the addition of Kit Harington, and the show was praised by fans as some of the “best ever” episodes of television. The finale was also hailed as “one of the greatest season finales I’ve ever watched”, “momentous” and “insanely good” by fans.
