Watch the animated music video for BLACKPINK’s ‘The Girls’
BLACKPINK have released their new song, ‘The Girls’ for their mobile game BLACKPINK The Game.
On August 25, the K-pop girl group unveiled the music video for ‘The Girls’ for the original soundtrack of their mobile game. The song was originally released in-game, before it became available on YouTube and streaming platforms.
The accompanying music video features the girl group’s in-game avatars as they perform its choreography. “Live fast, we do it like that / And we don’t lie, we born to be mad / Better come right or never come back / Don’t mess with the girls / With the girls, with the girls,” they sing in the chorus.
According to Korea Times, members Rosé and Jennie also helped co-write and co-compose the song, which is about “the importance of being independent and courageous.”
BLACKPINK The Game is developed by Takeone Company and features a management gameplay element, alongside puzzles, mini-games and other exclusive content. Learn more about the game here.
“Players will witness the never-seen-before sides of Blackpink in a variety of ways. We hope all fans around the world will be able to enjoy the game,” BLACKPINK’s label YG Entertainment said in a press release, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
Last week, BLACKPINK announced that they will be ending their ongoing ‘Born Pink’ world tour with a two-night concert in Seoul this September. YG Entertainment revealed yesterday (August 24) that the shows will be held at the Gocheok Sky Dome, which will make them the first girl group to hold a concert at the venue.
