As spotted by PCGamesN, Warhammer 3 is set to add the legendary hound Karanak as a hero. The cinematic trailer announcing this news simply states the pup is “coming soon”, and features a wizard running for his life away from the demon dog.
Karanak is the Flesh Hound of Chaos God Khorne, also known as the Blood God. Followers of Khorne are quick and brutal killers, and Karanak is a fitting hound for the god. The pup is able to hunt prey relentlessly, using his brute strength to overpower them and his Brass Collar of Bloody Vengeance to counter any magical attacks his victims may try to make against him.
The recent Thrones of Decay DLC for Warhammer 3 was described by NME as “one of the best [campaigns] we’ve ever played in Warhammer 3.” NME also wrote, “It’s a far cry from last year’s Shadows of Change expansion, which cost more than past DLC but added significantly less.”
A March patch for Total War: Warhammer 3 removed a randomly-generated name that was unfortunately shared with a prominent Nazi. One potential name for a High Elf was Guderian, which some users noticed was a name shared with Heinz Guderian, a Nazi general who led armoured divisions into Poland, France, and Russia.
Developer Creative Assembly also announced sweeping changes for its DLC pricing moving forward. These were implimented with Thrones of Decay, with material for each DLC faction being available to purchase seperately, or in a discounted bundle price if you purchase it all together.
In other news, Neil Druckmann, studio head of Naughty Dog, said in a recent interview that AI will “revolutionize how content is being created”.
