Here’s every song in ‘Supacell’ on Netflix
Supacell has arrived on Netflix today (June 27) and here are the songs on the new six-part series.
The streaming giant teamed up with Rapman to develop a new series about a group of Black superpowers.
A synopsis from Netflix reads: “Supacell is about a group of five ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers. They have little in common except for one thing: they are all Black South Londoners. It is down to one man, Michael Lasaki, to bring them all together in order to save the woman he loves.”
When the series was first commissioned, Anne Mensah, Netflix’s vice president of U.K. series, said: “Netflix U.K. is building on success — it’s hard to top the virtuosity and global impact of our existing, award-winning British series — from The Crown, Sex Education and After Life to Top Boy and Fate.”
In an interview with Games Radar, Rapman spoke about the series overcoming superhero fatigue, saying: “I know the superhero genre, 100% that’s been done to death, but Supacell is different – it’s a superpower drama about normal people, real people, not people that are martyrs, not people that are going to save the world, just people that try to save themselves and their families. Just what normal people would do.”
