Here’s how long it takes to beat ‘Expedition 33’
Expedition 33 has become one of the biggest releases of the year from a new studio. With a star-studded cast, dozens of hours of content, a unique combat system, and a whole lot more. There isn’t anything else like it on the market. So, if you want to check it out, you may be wondering how long it takes to beat Expedition 33.
Here is a rundown of the length of Expedition 33, based on our experience playing and beating it.
Expedition 33 takes around 25-30 hours to beat if you are focusing on the main story. For completionists who want to do everything, you are looking at 60-70 hours of content, as there is a huge amount of hidden areas and bosses in the open world map.
It is easy to focus on the main story in Expedition 33 as the game doesn’t force you off the golden path very much, if at all. However, it is worth exploring as there are powerful Weapons, skills, upgrades, and more hidden throughout the world that can drastically improve your party’s builds and effectiveness in combat. Some secret quests, dungeons, and areas offer some of the best fights and set pieces in the game and shouldn’t be missed.
You are naturally introduced to the open world as you progress through the game and unlock Esquie’s various traversal upgrades. Almost all of these are obtained from the main story. They allow you to swim, traverse through blocked-off areas behind coral, and even fly around the map towards the end of the game.
That gives you a rough overview of Expedition 33’s main story and side content, which are some of the best we have seen in an RPG like this. For even more on Expedition 33, be sure to check out our breakdown of the game’s star-studded cast and voice actors.
