Whether it’s a natural disaster, personal emergency, or unexpected hardship, MusiCares provides support to music professionals in need. MusiCares’ relief efforts have helped amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Superstorm Sandy, Nashville floods and tornadoes, California and Maui wildfires, Hurricanes Katrina, Harvey, Irma, and Ida, the Las Vegas Route 91 shooting and the 2016 Louisiana Floods.

Offering preventive, emergency and recovery programs, MusiCares is a safety net supporting the health and welfare of the music community. Founded by the Recording Academy in 1989, MusiCares safeguards the well-being of music people through direct financial grant programs, networks of support resources, and tailored crisis relief efforts. MusiCares is probably best known for hosting the annual Person of the Year gala, held two nights before the Grammy Awards, which raises funds for its year-round services.
