Details have emerged about Liam and Noel Gallagher‘s secret Oasis reunion photoshoot, following the news that the band will finally reunite onstage in 2025.

The formerly estranged brothers – who have been at loggerheads since Oasis broke up in 2009 – announced today (August 27) that they’ll perform together on a huge UK and Ireland tour next summer.

Kicking off in July, the upcoming run of gigs includes dates at Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Dublin’s Croke Park, and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

The news was accompanied by a new black-and-white photograph of the Gallaghers standing side-by-side, which was shot by Simon Emmett.

It came with a brief joint statement from the pair about their reconciliation: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Writing on Instagram photographer, Emmett said: “Honoured to be asked to capture this moment. Massive thanks to all involved #oasis.” See the post below.

The Telegraph has since shared some alternate images of Liam and Noel from the shoot (see above). Meanwhile, a source told The Sun: “The shoot was top secret and barely anyone knew about it.

“For their fans to see them together again will be an amazing sight. The atmosphere in the room was fizzing, it was electric.”

Staff were reportedly made to sign non-disclosure agreements when working at the photography studio at the time Liam and Noel were there.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source denied claims that Oasis’ 2024 press shot had been photoshopped from two images: “I know it looks like it could be photoshopped but they were both there and they have met up.”

They went on to say that Liam and Noel were “laughing and joking” on set, adding: “It was great to see after all the years apart.”

Simon Emmett previously shot Liam for El Pais Icon magazine in 2019, and worked with Noel for the cover of Esquire in 2015.

Oasis fans have been expressing their excitement over the band’s long-awaited return, and speculating over a potential headline set at Glastonbury – where the Gallaghers last topped the bill in 2004.

Meanwhile, plans are also currently “underway” for further Oasis live concerts outside of Europe.

It is not yet known who will join Liam and Noel in the reformed iteration of Oasis. However, recent reports claimed “no other original Oasis member is expected to join the reunion”, and that “the members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will step in for the concerts”.

‘OASIS LIVE 25’ is reportedly set to make a staggering £400million, and will follow the release of the expanded ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary reissue this Friday (August 30).

Elsewhere, the conversation has turned to who could support Oasis on their 2025 tour – with the likes of Kasabian and Blossoms being among the acts mentioned. Additionally, fans have been revisiting the band’s final 2009 setlist to get an idea of what they might play next year.

In other news, there was a surge in streams of Oasis’ music on Spotify this week as speculation grew over the reunion announcement.

During an interview with NME in 2020, Liam said an Oasis reunion was “gonna happen very fucking soon” before Noel explained in early 2023 that he would “never say never” to the idea.

But LG later claimed that his older brother had “done a lot of damage to Oasis as a brand”, and Noel argued that Liam was too much of a “coward” to follow through with the idea. The High Flying Birds musician also accused Liam of trying to “rewrite history” regarding Oasis’ “dreadful” final year together.

More recently, Liam told a crowd at one of his ‘Definitely Maybe’ shows that Noel was “still playing hard to get” regarding a comeback for the group.
