Disney+ releases full trailer for upcoming K-drama ‘Light Shop’
Disney+ has dropped the full trailer for its new supernatural mystery K-drama Light Shop, starring Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young and more. Read on for everything you need to know about its plot, cast, trailers and more.
What is the plot of Light Shop?
Based on the 2011 hit webtoon of the same name by Kang Full (also behind Moving), the upcoming Disney+ K-drama series Light Shop follows six strangers each struggling to process a traumatic experience from their past.
One day, they are suddenly trapped together in a mysterious neighbourhood with no escape. On the street is a shop selling lights that seems to hold the key to their past, present and future. Together, the six of them must piece together and process their lost memories to leave.
Who will star in the new Disney+ series?
Kingdom’s Ju Ji-hoon stars in the series as Jung Won-young, the owner of the light shop. Among those who join him are Kwon Young-ji, a nurse played by Park Bo-young (Daily Dose of Sunshine) and Yang Sung-sik (Bae Seong-woo), a detective.
Parasite’s Lee Jung-eun stars as Jung Yu-hee, a distraught mother, while Pachinko breakout star Kim Min-ha stars as Sunhae, a screenwriter. Uhm Tae-goo, Kim Seol-hyun and Kim Dae-myung also star in the series.
Is there a trailer for Light Shop?
Disney+ first released a teaser for the upcoming series on October 21. The clip briefly introduces the characters, as one of them chats with Jung Won-young in a voiceover after being drawn to the shop. Despite being confused and afraid after being trapped in the empty neighbourhood, they find comfort in the brightness of the light shop. “The question isn’t where we are, but what we are,” Jung says after a man asks about their surroundings.
The full official trailer for Light Shop was released on November 11. It begins with an ominous shot of a long-haired lady dressed in white sitting on a bus stop bench in the middle of the night, the scene only lit by a single streetlamp.
When a bus finally arrives, a man who alights at the stop confronts her and asks what she’s doing there, to which she creepily responds with: “Don’t you recognise me?”
How can I watch Light Shop?
The first four episodes of Light Shop will premiere December 4 exclusively on Disney+. The series is also expected to be available on Hulu in the US.
