According to Insider Gaming, the DLC could be released at some point next year and feature a new story line, side quests, activities, and outfits. Players will reportedly be able to buy Hogwarts Legacy: Definitive Edition as a complete package, but the bonus content will also be available for existing users as a separate expansion, costing between $20 (£15) and $30 (£23).
Shortly after the game was released, director Alan Tew explained how developer Avalanche Software wasn’t planning on expanding the base Hogwarts Legacy game. “We’ve been really heads down bringing it to life, so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.”
However, due to the huge sales Hogwarts Legacy racked up, Warner Bros. was soon talking about “more” Harry Potter games. Last month, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions was released and job listings at Avalanche Software seemingly confirmed a Hogwarts Legacy sequel was definitely in the works.
It’s not yet known if the planned Hogwarts Legacy expansion is instead of a sequel, or as well as, but the Harry Potter fanbase is divided over the news.

“2025 is shaping up to be easily the best year of my entire miserable existence,” wrote one fan. “Still not sure how good an idea it is to release that much content two years after the game, but hey, more here is better,” added another while a third wrote: “I would really rather a sequel that allows branching story paths and endings based off your choices since my main complaint with this game was how linear the narrative felt despite being shown otherwise. Though more content for an already good game is fine as well I guess.”
“Gaming publishers have found the answer to what follows after the Battle Royale genre… remakes,” wrote journalist Tom Henderson shortly after he reported on the planned Hogwarts Legacy expansion, while others have pointed out how forgettable the base game was. “My most disappointing game of 2023. No thanks,” said one fan.
I didn’t even finish the game. A bloated, completely boring game filled with non interesting quests here and there. I don’t understand why this game was successful other than the branding.

The original launch of Hogwarts Legacy also divided the fanbase due to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowlings’ numerous anti-trans comments. “I never set out to upset anyone. However, I was not uncomfortable with getting off my pedestal,” she explained recently.
In other news, Weezer have returned to Fortnite to celebrate 30 years of their iconic debut ‘The Blue Album’. The special ‘Sweat(er) City’ event went live over the weekend, and runs until November 11.
