How does ‘Cobra Kai’ end? Season six part two dissected
The second part of Cobra Kai’s season six is now out, but where do the latest episodes leave the story? Read on to find out.
It was announced in early 2023 that the sixth season of the Karate Kid spinoff show would be the last, with the first five episodes landing on Netflix in July.
As of last Friday (November 15), the latest five episodes arrived, with the climactic five, dubbed ‘The Finale Event’, set to bring the show to a close on February 13, 2025.
Cobra Kai follows characters from the original Karate Kid films, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), reframing the franchise from Johnny’s point of view as he decides to reopen his karate dojo and rekindle his rivalry with Daniel.
Elsewhere in the franchise, a new feature film, titled simply Karate Kid, is set to arrive on May 30, 2025, starring Jackie Chan alongside Macchio, as a follow-up to 2010’s The Karate Kid. Cobra Kai co-creator Jon Hurwitz confirmed he was not involved in that film.

With just five episodes now remaining of the Cobra Kai saga, the intertwining stories of the rival dojos Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai have reached their height.
The final season revolves around the Sekai Taikai karate tournament, where the best martial artists from around the world are competing against each other, with old rivalries and philosophies being fought out in the show.
The 10th episode of the season sees the tournament come down to duels between the captains of the four remaining teams. With accusations of match fixing and cheating swirling around the competition, the tournament directer Gunther Braun is eventually knocked unconscious by Sensei Ivanov of the Russian group Tiger Strike.
This sets off a brawl between all of the competitors. John Kreese goes to attack Terry Silver with his eunjangdo knife, but amid the chaos, it slips from his belt. The two fight in hand-to-hand combat, with Silver gaining advantage, but before he is able to finish him off, Johnny Lawrence decides to save his former sensei.
Cobra Kai student Kwon notices the eunjangdo and seizes it with the intention of killing Axel Kovacevic of the Iron Dragons dojo. Axel sees the attack coming and in an effort to block him, he kicks Kwon in mid-air, causing him to fall on the knife and fatally impale himself.
The shocking turn of events leaves the entire tournament and its competitors in shock, with Gunther Braun yelling out for the live broadcast of the tournament to be cut, with the episode ending on a sudden note of disarray and uncertainty.
