How to hide your helmet in ‘Monster Hunter Wilds’

Monster Hunter Wilds Hide Helmet: The player and their Palico can be seen in their tent

Monster Hunter Wilds offers more customisation and armour options than ever before. Thanks to layered armor being almost universal in the game now, you can change your appearance and turn individual armor pieces off visually while still gaining the bonuses and abilities from them.

But it is extremely easy to miss the option or where you can hide specific armor pieces like your helmet. Thankfully, here is a very easy breakdown of where it can be done.

To hide your helmet or any other piece of armour in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Step inside your tent at a Pop-Up Camp or a Base
  • Choose “Equipment Appearance” from the Appearance Menu
  • Turn off the helmet option

The option is pretty well hidden this time around, and it can be very easy to go several hours or through the whole campaign without ever knowing this option is there. Like we said, you can even run a hunt without any armor showing if you want. Additionally, in this menu you can find options to turn off your customisable pendants and your underclothes. You can also change the pigment of your clothes and armor.

There is a lot to customise, so it is strange that the game doesn’t properly show you how to do this or put the menu in a more obvious place.

Either way, the ability to hide armor pieces visually, plus the advanced high rank armour and layered armor options in the game, give Monster Hunter Wilds some of the most in-depth customisation in the series yet.
