HYBE to file complaint against Min Hee-jin, CEO of NewJeans agency ADOR
South Korean entertainment giant HYBE has said that it will file a complaint against executives of K-pop agency ADOR, including CEO Min Hee-jin, over a breach of trust and other allegations.
Today (April 25), HYBE announced that it would file a complaint against Min Hee-jin, the mastermind behind K-pop girl group NewJeans, and other executives of ADOR. The move comes amid a growing dispute between the two HYBE and the management of ADOR over control of the K-pop agency.
According to reports from Yonhap News Agency and The Korea Times, HYBE claims in a statement that it has “secured physical evidence that confirms the executive director’s involvement in drafting plans to usurp control of the company”, following an internal audit of ADOR.
The entertainment giant also alleged to have seen messages between executives of ADOR with plans to “strip [the K-pop agency] to its shell and take it away” and “pull global funds to deal with HYBE”.
HYBE has also released an alleged KakaoTalk (messaging app) conversation between Min Hee-jin and an ADOR employee, where the pair had discussed options of how to gain control of the K-pop agency, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
Yesterday (April 24), an unnamed deputy CEO of ADOR since claimed in an interview that the alleged evidence found by HYBE were nothing more than “personal reflections” about the “long-standing conflicts between HYBEand ADOR”.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will reportedly move ahead with plans to release new music next month despite the ongoing spat between its label ADOR and entertainment giant HYBE.
