“I think I need a lie down”: ‘Meet The Moggs’ reality series to show family life of Jacob Rees-Mogg
Jacob Rees-Mogg and his family are set to be the subjects of a new Discovery+ docuseries.
Meet The Rees-Moggs is scheduled to arrive later this year, where the British MP, his wife and their six children will star in the TV show. The series is set to include five hour-long episodes documenting the run-up to this year’s General Election, as well as the aftermath of the controversial politician losing his seat in North East Somerset. Rees-Mogg had served as MP since 2010.
“With exclusive access, this fly-on-the-wall documentary series will be a never-before-seen look into his life at home in the 17th century Somerset house where he lives with his wife and six children,” the logline read.
In a press release for the TV show, Rees-Mogg said: “Animals, children, an election and a film crew. What could possibly go wrong? This everyday story of Somerset folk is fun to film but may be a bit more Fawlty Towers than Downton Abbey.”
Now, users on social media have reacted to the news, with some requesting a “lie down” and others branding it as “some kind of weird attempt to make Mogg and his brood seem human”. Check out some more reactions down below:

The Somerset MP is not the first politican to make the move to media; former MP Matt Hancock memorably featured in the cast for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, whilst former Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced he was to join GB News as a presenter last year.
Rees-Mogg himself also has his own TV show on GB News, which was found to have breached Ofcom’s rules for impartiality. However, no sanction was imposed on the network or Rees-Mogg’s show.
