The team behind the hugely popular It Takes Two are working on a brand new game.

Releasing in 2021, It Takes Two is a co-op action adventure game where players take control of a pair of squabbling parents who’ve accidentally been turned into dolls by their daughter. “Work together across a huge variety of gleefully disruptive gameplay challenges,” says the official description.

Over 20million copies of It Takes Two have been sold and the game has also picked up numerous awards including Game Of The Year at the 2021 Game awards. A feature film is also in the works at Amazon’s Prime Video with Dwayne Johnson attached to the project.

However, developers Hazelight have also started work on their next game. Earlier this year, it confirmed it would be announcing “new (real good) stuff” as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations in November and creative director Josef Fares has also teased the new project.

“Getting a lot of questions about the next game. Here is a tease,” he wrote on social media recently. “It is a BRAND NEW IP called S**** ******N. Can’t wait to show it soon”.

The post was shared by Hazelight’s X account, who added an image of a script. It doesn’t give much away about the title apart from the fact it’ll be released before the year 2030 and EA Originals will be publishing the game. A sticky note also suggests the new IP will be a co-op game, just like It Takes Two and Hazelight’s debut game A Way Out. Fans believe the title of the new game will be Split Fiction.

Speaking about the project in 2022, Fares said it would be “a surprise in a good way” and that “it’ll be something really fucking cool.”

In other news, an official Fallout Day celebration is happening later this week, with a number of in-game events and news on the future of Fallout 76 due to be shared.
