ITZY’s Chaeryeong on Stray Kids’ Changbin: “I honestly didn’t think he would debut”
ITZY‘s Chaeryeong has revealed why she initially didn’t believe JYP Entertainment labelmate Changbin of Stray Kids would debut.
Stray Kids’s Changbin recently made a guest appearance on a YouTube show hosted by ITZY’s Chaeryeong. During the show, the duo revealed that they’ve known each other since before their debuts because they used to live in the same apartment complex.
The pair the spoke about how they would travel together to their agency during their trainee days and how Changbin would give Chaeryeong “a lot of advice”. Chaeryeong added: “He would listen to me a lot and stuff, and we were really close during our trainee years.”
However, the ITZY member then revealed that her “first impression” of Changbin had been “really bad”, so much so that she “honestly didn’t think he would debut”, per SBS Star. In response, Changbin said that Chaeryeong has told him this story before.
“Because in this big land of Korea – and there are trainees who come from overseas – there are so many trainees,” she added. “But did you ever imagine that there would be another JYP trainee that lives in the same apartment complex?”
In other ITZY news, earlier this month, the girl group announced the return of member Lia, following a near year-long hiatus. The singer had missed out on the K-pop quintet’s ‘Born to Be’ world tour and promotional activities for the accompanying album.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids recently released their music video for ‘Chk Chk Boom’, featuring cameos from Marvel actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
