J Balvin, Manuel Medrano & More: Which Is Your Favorite New Latin Music Release This Week? Vote!

This week, Billboard‘s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — feature fresh new releases from artists like J Balvin, Manuel Medrano, Marca Registrada’s collab with Julieta Venegas, and more.

Maria Becerra and Ivy Queen kick off Women’s History Month with full force, delivering the hard-hitting “Primer Aviso.” Both artists rap about the challenges faced coming up in the industry. In one of her rapid-fire verses, Becerra spits “¿Cómo le van a cerrar la puerta a la arquitecta? (how are you going to close the door on the architect?)”

The reggaetón track was supposed to be a solo song but when Ivy Queen heard the lyrics, she wanted to jump on, Becerra explained in a press release. “I sent the song to Ivy so she could echo my bars and do ad libs like everyone else, [but] she sent me a verse directly because she identified with [the song] I loved the idea because I realized I wasn’t the only one these things happened to.”

Meanwhile, J Balvin unleashed his new single “Triple S,” a collaboration with De La Ghetto and Jowell & Randy. The Tainy and Subelo Neo-produced track narrates the story of a strong-minded single woman who’s not to be messed with, and one who has a guarded heart with no expectations.

Other new releases include Alfonso Terán’s “Amor De Mi Vida,” Manuel Medrano’s “Este Cuento” and Marca Registrada and Julieta Venegas’ new version of “Andar Conmigo.”

Last week, Lenny Tavárez’s “Empelotica” won the poll with over 85 percent of the votes. Manuel Turizo and Yandel’s “Mamosota” followed with more than six percent of the votes. Which your favorite new Latin music release of this week? Vote below!
