J. Prince Reacts to YSL Woody Allegedly Comparing Him to Young Thug During Police Interview

J. Prince isn’t happy with YSL Woody and the prosecutors handling the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

Earlier this week, the prosecution once again called Woody to the stand to ask him about statements he’s made to police. In one instance captured on video and shared on social media, a prosecutor asked about Woody allegedly mentioning J. Prince’s name when being questioned about Young Thug.

“Now Mr. Copeland, in this June 10 interview, you made a reference that Thug was trying to be like the J. Prince of Atlanta,” asked a prosecutor. “Do you recall hearing that?” Woody answered,”I guess,” before adding, “I don’t know. I told you for the 10th time, I’m gonna tell the police anything, and that’s what I did.”

The Rap-A-Lot founder didn’t take too kindly to being mentioned by the prosecution, and he let it be known by posting a clip of Woody’s testimony on Instagram. “Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-ass people putting my name in their mouth,” he wrote. “But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man’s life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself. Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst. #freeyoungthug”

Billboard has reached out to YSL Woody for comment.

While on the stand, Woody grew increasingly frustrated with the prosecution’s line of questioning as he repeatedly told them that he lied to police while being interviewed. “I told you that I lied and I told you that, and y’all still brought me in here,” he said before the judge allowed him to get off the stand briefly to collect himself.
