BBR Music Group hosted a brunch at the 2023 ACM Awards under sunny skies at the Briarstone Country Club in Frisco, Texas. Held the morning of the ACM Awards on May 11 for more than 200 people and sponsored by Heineken and Billboard, the event was presided over by BMG Nashville president Jon Loba, who opened the morning event with a rundown of the label’s myriad accomplishments. Performers included new artists Dylan Schneider and former American Idol contestant HunterGirl, both of whom played acoustically, while Brooke Eden previewed music from her forthcoming EP.
Country superstar Jason Aldean, whom Billboard presented a plaque to for his many chart achievements including 25 No. 1s on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart and 36 top 10s on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, showcased new music, including fan anthem, “Tough Crowd.” Aldean performed the song live for the first time later on the ACM Awards, for which he was nominated for entertainer of the year.
Jelly Roll also gave a sneak peak of his June 2 set, Whitsitt Chapel, playing a number of songs from the emotional album, including “Son of a Sinner,” which has been certified platinum by the RIAA and reached No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart.
Attendees included radio award winners, whom the ACM Awards announced the night before, as well as representatives from digital service providers, managers, agents and lawyers. Among the other BBR/BMG executives on hand were BMG Recorded Music Nashville exec vp JoJamie Hahr and Carson James, senior vp of promotion at Broken Bow Records / Stoney Creek Records, as well as BMG/BBR Music Group general manager Peter Strickland.
