K-pop boyband BLITZERS reach semi-final of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’
Six-member K-pop boyband BLITZERS recently appeared on an episode of Britain’s Got Talent, making it to the show’s semi-final round.
BLITZERS appeared on Britain’s Got Talent on May 18, during the fifth episode of its ongoing 17th season. The sextet – formed by members Jinhwa, Juhan, Sya, Chris, Lutan and Wooju – were invited by the show to participate in the audition.
Dressed in matching white outfits, the group introduced themselves to the audience and judges, sharing that they have been together for three years. “We want to perform on the Wembley stage someday and become famous in both Korea and the UK,” said member Chris.
The group then performed a rendition of Shawn Mendes’ 2016 hit ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’, complete with choreography and an additional rap verse in Korean.
After receiving a positive response from the audience and judges, all four judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli – voted yes on the group’s performance, allowing them to proceed to the television competition’s semi-final round.
Cowell praised the group’s audition, adding: “Personality is so important, and even just how you introduced yourselves […] it seems to me that you’re very ambitious, and that you’re friends, family – this is just brilliant.”
BLITZERS made their debut in May 2021 with their first EP ‘Check-In’ under Wuzo Entertainment. They have since released two other EPs, namely ‘Seat-Belt’ and ‘Win-Dow’ in October 2021 and July 2022 respectively.
The group’s most recent release was their April 2023 single album ‘Macarena’, which was led by the lead single of the same name.
In other K-pop news, girl group EVERGLOW have started to tease their long-awaited return with their fifth single album ‘Zombie’. Arriving next month, the new release comes over 10 months after last year’s ‘All My Girls’.
