143 Entertainment K-pop act LIMELIGHT wil be re-debuting as a new group named MADEIN.

On July 16, all of LIMELIGHT’s social media accounts were changed to reflect the group’s new name, MADEIN, alongside a new logo. The change comes after the agency hinted that former Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo would be joining the act following the end of their contracts in the project girl group.

The two K-pop idols launched personal Instagram accounts, which LIMELIGHT’s (now MADEIN’s) official account reshared to its story. Prior to this, LIMELIGHT comprised three members: MiU, Suhye and Gaeun.

According to a press release from 143 Entertainment, per Koreaboo, the girl group will make their debut sometime in September. It added that the group’s name comes from its slogan, “WE MADEIN U”, as most of its members have previously appeared on survival programmes where they received support from fans.

The girl group’s last release as LIMELIGHT was their January 2024 mini-album ‘Last Dance’ and its lead single ‘Ta-Da!’. At the time, their agency shared that it would be their last release as a trio, as it planned to re-organise the group with additional members.

Meanwhile, Mashiro and Yeseo recently ended their two-and-a-half year stint as members of project girl group Kep1er. The nine-member act was formed through the Mnet survival programme Girls Planet 999, which MADEIN’s MiU also participated in.

Mashiro and Yeseo were the only members of Kep1er who opted not to extend their contracts with the girl group, and officially left after their contracts expired at the start of July. The remaining members will continue as a seven-member group, though agency WAKEONE did not specify the length of their contract extension.

Elsewhere, WAKEONE boy band ZEROBASEONE have announced dates in Asia for their first-ever tour ‘Timeless World’. The group will kick-off the tour with a three-night show in Seoul this September before performing in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila and more.
