Kaley Cuoco and ‘Ozark’ star Tom Pelphrey announce engagement
The Flight Attendant’s Kaley Cuoco has announced on social media that she is engaged to Ozark star Tom Pelphrey.
Cuoco shared on her Instagram Stories on Thursday (August 15) that the couple were engaged to be married, writing simply, “Amazing weekend”, alongside a photo of her showing off a ring while embracing Pelphrey.
“What a wild, beautiful journey life can be,” she wrote under a subsequent video. “Grateful for every road that led me straight to you @tommypelphrey.”
The couple first confirmed their relationship in May 2022, and they share a daughter Matilda, who was born in March 2023.
The news comes two years after Cuoco vowed she would “never” tie the knot again, following her previous marriages to tennis player Ryan Sweeting and showjumper Karl Cool.
Cuoco rose to prominence playing Penny in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory from 2007 to 2019, and later earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her lead role in HBO’s comedy thriller The Flight Attendant.
The Flight Attendant, which was developed by Steve Yockey (Supernatural) and based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, starred Cuoco as Cassie Bowden, an alcoholic flight attendant who regularly hooks up with passengers after flights, but is shocked one morning to find a dead body lying next to her.
HBO Max confirmed in January this year that the show would not be returning for a third season.
In a two-star review of the first season of the show, NME wrote: “Receiving Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Critic’s Choice Award nominations for her turn as Cassie, the Big Bang Theory star is perhaps the best thing about the show, shining with slapstick energy as a messy anti-heroine. If she was your best mate, you’d absolutely be done with her…But as a viewer you’re still rooting for the engaging Cassie, even when she parties instead of prepping for an interview with the FBI. Yet in a world of messy woman stereotypes on-screen, The Flight Attendant can’t help but come over as plain infuriating.”
Pelphrey, meanwhile, played Ben Davis on Netflix’s Ozark, and is also known for his appearances in Outer Range, Iron Fist, Mank and American Murderer.
