‘Kaos’: Fan petition to save cancelled Netflix series racks up thousands of signatures

A fan petition to save Netflix‘s Kaos has attracted thousands of signatures following the show’s cancellation.

The series, which premiered on the service on August 30, starred Jeff Goldblum as an unconventional Zeus in a modern-day setting. All eight episodes were written by creator Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing).

News of the show’s cancellation dropped earlier this week, with Covell admitting they were “gutted” about the decision.

On Thursday, Covell penned a message to the show’s fans on the Instagram page of production company Sister, writing: “Of course I’m gutted not to be making more ‘Kaos,’ but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make. I’m incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew, and I’m extremely proud of our show. Thank you to absolutely everybody involved: it was a Herculean team effort, and a huge privilege to work with you all.”

While the series received generally mixed reviews, many fans have expressed their disappointment over its cancellation, and a Change.Org petition to save the show currently has 3,288 signatures of its 5,000 target.

The first and seemingly last season saw Zeus chain up Prometheus after interfering his with godly rule over humanity. Prometheus then attempted to overthrow Zeus with the help of three humans, Eurydice, Ariadne and Caeneus.

Alongside Goldblum, the cast also included Janet McTeer as Hera, Aurora Perrineau as Eurydice, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Leila Farzad as Ariadne, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Debi Mazar as Medusa, Stephen Dillane as Prometheus, Misia Butler as Caeneus, Mat Fraser as Daedalus, Stanley Townsend as Minos, Billie Piper as Cassandra, Suzy Eddie Izzard as Lachesis, Cathy Tyson as Alecto and more.

Back in September, Covell told NME about their plans for two more season of Kaos, saying: “That would be my dream. I’ve got a pretty clear plan of what I want to do with it, so I just have to hope.”
