‘Kaos’ season two: what’s planned and when could it come out?
The first season of Netflix series Kaos, starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, is streaming now, but when can fans expect to see it return in the future?
Created by Charlie Covell (The End Of The F**king World), the dark comedy series reimagines the modern world as ruled by Greek gods, led by Zeus who is fearing the end of his reign in light of an ancient prophecy.
Alongside Goldblum, the show’s cast includes Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Killian Scott, Debi Mazar, Stephen Dillane, Aurora Perrineau, and Nabhaan Rizwan.
Is Kaos season two happening?
Netflix has yet to officially confirm whether the show will return for a second season. This decision is usually based on viewing metrics, and with the show having been streaming since August 29, the performance of the show in the next fortnight will prove critical.
Have the cast and creators said anything about a second season?
Show creator Charlie Covell has said they have plans for a second season if Netflix decides to pull the trigger.
Speaking to Variety alongside Covell about a second season, Jeff Goldblum said: “I already am wildly curious. I said to Charlie, ‘What happens?’ And Charlie’s got many things in mind. So it’s fertile ground.”
Covell also spoke to Radio Times about their plans for the show moving forward, revealing that they envisage the series running for three seasons in total.
“That’s what I have kind of in my brain,” they said. “I would love to do more.”
They continued that they have a “clear” vision of what happens next in the narrative arc, adding: “There’s lots of things forming. I’ve got an idea of what the plot is.”
“But no, there’s no script, just lots of fevered documents and stuff that only I would probably understand at this point. But the main story is clear in my head.”
When could a potential season two come out?
Based on the time between seasons for most Netflix shows, any potential second season will likely be a few years away yet. This will also depend on when, and crucially if, the show is actually renewed.
