Kate Nash announces 2024 North American tour dates

Kate Nash has announced a new North American tour to take place in October and November this year. Find all the details below.

The singer released her fifth studio album – and first in six years – ‘9 Sad Symphonies’ in June, and had already announced an extensive run of dates for the UK and Europe, which will kick off on in Glasgow on November 21.

Now, she has added a run of 18 North American dates, which will open at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live on October 10 and run through to November 3 at San Francisco’s The Chapel. Shamir, Revenge Wife, Joh Chase and Skating Folly will serve as opening acts across the dates.

Tickets for the shows are on sale now, and you can get yours here.

“It’s been six years since I toured North America and I can’t wait to reconnect with my fans out there,” Nash has said about the tour. “I’m very excited to be doing my first US tour dates as a US Citizen.”

The dates will coincide with the run-up to the presidential election, and Nash added: “I’ll definitely be voting in the upcoming election, there are so many important issues to make a stand for. I care so deeply about women’s sexual health rights and my trans friends and community. It’s so important to come together during these heightened times, to have a safe space to listen to music and to blow off some steam. I hope my shows can be a place of release & joy amidst the chaos.”

‘9 Sad Symphonies’ included the singles ‘Change’, ‘Space Odyssey 2001’, ‘My Bile’ and ‘Millions Of Heartbeats’ and saw Nash team up with Danish producer Frederick Thaae.

The new album was said to “begin a new and unprecedented artistic journey” and drew on “inspiration from old Hollywood glamour, vintage musicals, and the relentless pursuit of beauty in a chaotic world.”

The record also tackles the artist’s mental health struggles, about which she has said: “It’s natural for an artist to write about emotions and feelings and darkness”.

“Also, a lot of my fans suffer from depression too and I noticed it more when I was doing my livestream chats over lockdown. Not talking about it is not the solution. Being open and creating that community within my fanbase is really important.”
