Keanu Reeves makes professional racing debut and spins off the track in Toyota GR Cup
Keanu Reeves has made his professional racing debut this weekend.
Reeves, who earlier this year sustained a brutal knee injury while filming an Aziz Ansari comedy, was competing in Indianapolis’ Toyota GR Cup, a Toyota spec-racing series, ahead of this weekend’s Indy 8 Hour sports car event.
The Matrix actor partnered up with another celebrity driver, Cody Jones, from the Dude Perfect YouTube sports series, and drove the No. 92 BRZRKR car, which featured a red and black design to promote his graphic novel The Book Of Elsewhere.

He spun onto the grass without crashing as he competed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway yesterday (October 5), having come off the track unhurt on the exit of turn nine. He signalled that he wasn’t injured and continued driving.
Having qualified in 31st place, he avoided a first-lap crash at turn 14 and was, at one point in the race, as high as 21st place. He eventually finished 25th out of 35, and has a second race today (October 6).
The Dogstar bassist has previous racing experience and won the celebrity race of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in 2009.
Elsewhere, the trailer for Ballerina, a John Wick spin-off film, was recently released, and sees Reeves return as the titular John Wick, though the extent of his role in the film remains unknown.
Ballerina is the first feature-length spin-off film set in the John Wick universe, following the spin-off series The Continental. The upcoming film stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a ballerina who is trained to be an assassin in hopes of avenging the death of her family.
The trailer – which is aptly backed by Elton John‘s ‘Tiny Dancer’ – sees the return of several faces including Ian McShane’s Winston and the late Lance Reddick‘s Charon, who take in a young Macarro and begin training her to be an assassin.
