KISS OF LIFE, Mark Tuan drop 2024 ‘Valorant’ Champions anthem, ‘Superpower’
KISS OF LIFE and Mark Tuan have released the song ‘Superpower’, the anthem for the 2024 Valorant Champions.
Today (July 24) at 8am KST, Valorant developer Epic Games released the official anthem for this year’s Valorant Champions. Titled ‘Superpower’, the song is performed by KISS OF LIFE members Natty and Julie alongside GOT7 member and soloist Mark Tuan.
The accompanying music video for ‘Superpower’ features characters from the video game, alongside references to the teams competing in the esports tournament. “If I never leap, I’ll never fly / Bleed or sacrifice / Fight until the final hour / Pain is my superpower,” Natty belts on the chorus.
Valorant Champions is the grand finale of Valorant‘s international esports tournament series. Wholly organised by developer Riot Games, this year’s final tour will run from August 1 to 25, with the crowning event slated to take place in Seoul, South Korea.
Riot Games and Valorant previously tapped Japanese girl group XG for a collaboration single titled ‘Undefeated’ in April, made for the Valorant Champions Tour Pacific that took place from April to May this year in Seoul.
KISS OF LIFE’s new song with Mark Tuan for Valorant is the latest addition to a growing number collaborations the quartet have had with other K-pop artists this year. Natty teamed up with Korean-American singer Jay Park on the track ‘Taxi Blurr’ while Julie featured on ‘Magic’ from TWICE’s Nayeon’s mini-album ‘NA’.
The announcement of ‘Superpower’ also comes shortly after the quartet dropped the summer single ‘Sticky’ on July 1, which also included B-side track ‘Te Quiero’.
