Kylie Minogue has announced her album ‘Tension II’, which will include nine new tracks.

The Australian popstar revealed the news on X/Twitter, where she unveiled the sequel to last year’s ‘Tension’.

“LOVERS …. TENSION II … The sequel with NINE new tracks will be yours on October 18th!” Minogue wrote. “Get ready for your close up…”

She went on to announce single ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ was to drop September 27. So far, the singer has previewed the tracks ‘Edge of Saturday Night‘ with The Blessed Madonna along with her Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo collaboration ‘My Oh My‘. Minogue also teased in the tweet: “But wait! There’s more….”

‘Tension II’ will be released via BMG and can be pre-ordered and pre-saved here. Check below for the full tracklist:

Kylie Minogue’s ‘Tension II’ tracklist is:

‘Lights Camera Action’
‘Taboo’
‘Someone For Me’
‘Good as Gone’
‘Kiss Bang Bang’
‘Diamonds’
‘Hello’
‘Dance to the Music’
‘Shoulda Left Ya’
‘Edge of Saturday Night (with the Blessed Madonna)’
‘Me Oh My (with Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo)’
‘Midnight Ride (with Orville Peck & Diplo)’
‘Dance Alone (with Sia)’

When ‘Tension’ originally dropped, NME wrote in a four-star review: “The result isn’t Minogue’s most cohesive or revealing LP, but it does feel driven by its own internal logic. Ultimately, ‘Tension’ plays like a fun, flirty night out with an old friend who never burdens you with her problems.

“Whether you’ve known Minogue for a lifetime – or just since ‘Padam Padam’ – you’ll want to join the party.”

‘Tension’ included the smash hit ‘Padam Padam’, which ended up landing at Number Three on NME‘s best songs of 2023 (and was very nearly given to Rita Ora). Minogue described its “seismic” success as “overwhelming”, saying: “It’s an incredible time. It doesn’t really feel real to me yet because it’s all just happening.

“‘Padam’ was just seismic. The earth was moving and now this is ‘Tension’s first play. This is very exciting.”

We spoke to the popstar at the BRITs this year, where she revealed she was experimenting with new genres including indie folk.

“I just listen to playlists of one song I like, which leads me down this trippy path,” she told us of what artists she’s been enjoying. “Who should I seek out tonight? Just putting it out there that indie pop folk is one of my happy places.”

She continued: “I just love collaboration and stepping into different [genres]. Being malleable and seeing what’s possible.”
