Cassyette released her debut album ‘This World Fucking Sucks’ in August, which NME awarded three stars, noting: “The record ends with a showcase of the emotional power of Cassyette’s voice, which still feels like a breath of fresh air in the alternative sphere and will stand her in good stead as she continues to establish her sound.”

She also spoke to NME recently about the heavy inspirations behind the album. “One of the main through lines on the album was grief – I lost my dad at the beginning of the pandemic”, she said. “This album has been very exposing for me. I didn’t really know what the reaction would be. Being able to hear people’s stories, it’s connected way more than I thought it would, which is a really beautiful thing to have seen happen.”

Gaga, meanwhile, has said ‘Disease’ explores “the relationship I have with my own inner demons”, adding that it is about “facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realising that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me.”

She also spoke to Vogue about what fans can expect from the upcoming record. “The album is chaotic from a genre perspective – it is genre-bending, and I think in that way is a deeply personal look into my mind as a producer and the way I think about music,” she said.

“When I write and produce and sing songs, I am always drawing upon my knowledge of the history of music, and so many artists and producers that came before me. In that way, this album is a celebration of a lot of the music that made me who I am, because when I returned to a darker pop style of pop, all my early experiences with music came out.”

Last month, she also shared ‘Harlequin’ – a companion album to her new film Joker: Folie à Deux. In August, Gaga released the standalone collaborative single ‘Die With A Smile’ with Bruno Mars.

Since then, she has been confirmed as a headliner for Coachella 2025, alongside Post Malone and Green Day.
