Lady Gaga has opened up about being “pain free” after struggling with fibromyalgia for years.

She previously described the condition, which causes musculoskeletal pain and a host of other symptoms including severe fatigue, sleep problems and depression, as a “nightmare”, and at points thought she’d “never be on stage again”.
In a new interview with Vogue, the Joker: Folie à Deux star has reflected on her journey with the condition.
“When I went on the ‘Chromatica Ball‘ tour in 2022,” she recalled, “that was the first time I’ve performed not in pain in…I don’t even remember. Michael [Polanksy, her fiancé] and I did that tour together,” she added. “I did it pain-free!”
The ‘Born This Way’ singer also noted she hasn’t “smoked pot in years”, whereas she had previously used the drug to manage her pain following a hip injury.
“I’ve, like, changed,” she said. “A lot. I feel like this new album, in a lot of ways, is about that time but from a place of happiness instead of misery.”
She has been steadily teasing posts of her in the studio over this year, but little is known about the record at this stage. She did, however, play a couple of brief snippets from the album for fans on the streets of Paris in July, shortly after she performed at the Olympics opening ceremony in the city.
More recently, she’s hinted to fans that the lead single from her upcoming album could be arriving in October, after posting a photo of a future schedule earlier this week.
One date read: “XX October: LG7 first single”, implying that she’ll be sharing the lead single from her as-yet-unannounced seventh studio album. The single will be her first new material since last month’s ‘Die With A Smile’, a surprise collaboration with Bruno Mars.
Elsewhere in her schedule was the release date of Joker: Folie à Deux, in which Gaga stars as Harleen “Lee” Quinzel – a version of Harley Quinn – opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck and the Joker.
The sequel comes out on October 4, exactly five years after the original film came out, and is already being hailed the “movie of the year”.
