Lauren Jauregui Shows Love to Normani on ‘Dopamine’ Release Day: ‘LET’S GO MANI’
Lauren Jauregui is in Normani‘s corner, no matter what.
The “Expectations” singer made sure to give her former Fifth Harmony bandmate a shout-out on Normani’s Dopamine album release day — six years after the girl group split.
Retweeting the “Motivation” artist’s announcement that the LP had officially dropped, Jauregui wroteon Friday (June 14), “AHHHHH HAPPY DOPAMINE DAY BI—ESSS!!!”
She added, “LETS GO MANI.”
After years of teasing that her debut record was on its way, Dopamine finally arrived this week — complete with collaborations from Gunna, Cardi B, James Blake and more. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone about the project, Normani revealed that she and Jauregui are still in touch, making its release even more special. “Lauren just texted me today,” she told the publication, declining to share what her friend had said. “Oh no, that’s sacred! That’s for me and her. It’s crazy we’re talking about everything and today she texted me. What a journey it’s been!”
The “Candy Paint” musician also addressed her Fifth Harmony days in the interview, confessing that the pressures of being in the group formed on X Factor “took a toll” on her self-confidence. “I’m grateful for all of it, even the moments where I might’ve felt inadequate or less than,” she said. “It definitely has a lot to do with why I am the way that I am.”
“We were babies,” she added of her former groupmates. “We were so innocent and I think that is the struggle, to your point, of just us having to face reality under very unrealistic circumstances. I always say we did the very best we could with what we had, so that I’m proud of.”
