HYBE released all five episodes of the Make It Look Easy YouTube series yesterday (July 29) at 8pm KST via its main YouTube channel, with each episode clocking in at around 30 minutes or less. The series is named after LE SSERAFIM’s third mini-album, ‘Easy’, which dropped earlier this year.
The documentary’s release marks LE SSERAFIM’s second so far, after they released their first docu-series titled The World Is My Oyster in 2023. In the trailer for Make It Look Easy, montages of the girls at performances, practices and shoots flash through the screen before dialogues from individual member interviews are shown.
The trailer also features heart wrenching shots of the group in bad physical shape during rehearsals and in between performances, with Chaewon telling the camera, “I was mad at myself. I felt like I wasn’t being professional.” Sakura also added in her own interview: “Is being an idol the job that I could do best?”
‘Easy’ was led by a title track of the same name and spawned another hit song titled ‘Smart’. The five-piece later went on to make their debut at this year’s instalment of Coachella, following BLACKPINK’s headline set in 2023. Other K-pop acts who performed at Coachella alongside the girl group include ATEEZ and The Rose.
In a four-star review of LE SSERAFIM’s Coachella set, NME’s Rhian Daly wrote: “Watching the group, you get the sense that, for the group, another big part of that feeling comes from being able to conquer Coachella with each other.”
The release of Make It Look Easy also notably comes just a month before the group are slated to release new music in late August, according to an announcement by Source Music made late last month. However, no specifics about the group’s next project have been shared by the label as of writing.
